Text on a Path (Photoshop CS required)
Photoshop finally has the text on a Path option, here is a tutorial with a twist!

1. The first thing you will need is a spiral to apply your text on: Create a colored rectangle (Make sure you are using a high resolution canvas)

2. Use the Twirl Filter (>Filter>Distort>Twirl).

3. Select the shape (CTRL+Click on the Layer).

4. Go to the Path Menu and click on the "Make Work Path" button.

5. Hide all the layers.

6. Select the Type Tool and click on the Path.

7. Type in your text.

You can now paste your funky text on your layout.
