The Church
Here is a quick walkthrough for this restoration project.
 

7. A new coat of paint was done using a Layer Mask.
8. Stain Glass images were put in place 
9. Shadows were added to the windows. 
10. A few touch ups later...

I went a little crazy and did a second version...

  • Darkened the background, added Clouds.
  • Created light sources using Masks and the Lighting Filter.
  • Added Fog, Flares, Diffuse Glow... and the excavation work.
