4. Add a new Layer Above the Color Layer.

5. >Edit>Fill this Layer with a 50% Gray.

6. Change the Layer Mode to Overlay.

7. By using the Burn and Dodge Tools on this layer, you'll be adding Highlights and Shadows to the image without damaging your color Layer.

EXTRA STEP:
Merge the Color Layers and add >Filters>Pixelate>Color Halftone Filter for a classic Comics "printed" look.
